Interesting...

I just find it interesting.... one tries so hard to communicate her ideas.   Struggling to the point of this guttural reaction ....      So curious.

Efficiency

Striving for efficiency, but the minute hand, nights, days, weeks keep spinnin' by like a good pop tune.

How can I be more efficient?    I think it's the perfection.    But one must sink a lot of energy in to get things right.    Let's hope improved efficiency comes with experience.

For today, just sweat (see blog title), keep at it and surrender to 'good enough'.

PS: not sure if the norwegians liked the pie or not.   One asked if it had a lot of calories - I told em it's 'healthy' even!  A vegetable pie!   C'mon.     Though another suggested every week must be thanksgiving (i.e. he wants me to bring in 'kake' once per week.  sighs.    If he only knew my record with the cookie police.

118, what's your favorite?

Chemist explains why gold beat out all of the other elements on the periodic table for currency.

My money's still on lithium though....      what an exciting element!     Brings back memories of high school chemistry and learning about the power of metal oxide reactions.    Stuff our country was made on - e.g. construction of transportation - railroad ties helped along via thermite reactions.

Ah... guess I have been a scientist for many years now.   So happy to be getting the final credential.   :)

Spend time to patiently think

Excellent blog post on one of my favorites Dumb Little Man

And a secondary thought from Marilyn Monroe....
"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

In reality some folks are a little more messy than they appear....    still, I would encourage stillness and self control.....  even faking one's way to sanity as alluded to in a previous post.      I do find the last part of Monroe's quote interesting, however, ("if you can't handle me at my worst, then you ... don't deserve me at my best") reminds me of surrounding oneself with positive people, people who are deserving of your energy and positive qualities.   I read something a while back about surrounding yourself with those you admire, and that effort will bring you up, allow you to learn simply by association....         Of course, I'm all for helping others -  spreading the light to all.

And back to Sir Isaac - - spend time thinking each day, from the blog: "If you would just block out some time daily to “think,” you could solve many of yourproblems. …You could even solve some of the world’s problems."

I know there are things to consider, such as editing....  flashy gizmo voice smoothing, etc, just like image processing techniques.    And also song choice (whatami Randy Jackson?), but I had higher hopes for the performance.      Guess she doesn't have to worry about it in any case.

All that matters is the appearance of sanity

Just try to appear sane and normal, folks.   ;-)

shower doors

"My glass shower doors are filmy"
Clean them with vinegar, baking soda, and salt.
Stubborn mineral buildup on glass shower doors is no competition for a few common household ingredients—white vinegar, baking soda, and salt. Spray vinegar on the door and let it sit for a few minutes. Next, create a paste with equal amounts of baking soda and salt. Use adamp sponge to rub this paste over the door; then rinse well.

Inspiration

Thomas Alva Edison, an American scientist, inventor, businessman.....     famously stated that "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration."     Now the term 'genius' I take issue with, surely not anyone who 'merely' works hard can be considered 'a genuis.'     But, I am comforted and encouraged by this quote from Edison, as all my life - it has been instilled in me, and I believe in putting effort in to do the job right.
